The Conception of Us

Rate this book
How did a 28 year old virgin like myself catch a woman like her?
From the first time I saw her behind the camera lens, I knew she was out of my league.
Every man’s fantasies come to life, I couldn’t get her out of my mind.
Out of all the guys she could have, she chose me, the nerdy Malay guy.
I’m so nervous about bringing her to meet my family, my palms are sweating.
What if they’re too much for her?
What if I’m not enough for her?
What if she decides she can’t handle the fact that we can’t do anything before marriage?

Catching her isn’t going to be enough.
The hard part is finding a way to keep her.

I'm a reader, first and foremost. Just like everyone else.

I love books that are just out there. From fluffy to pitch-black darkness. Monsters and aliens to the men who haunt your dreams painting the walls in red.

My love for reading and writing reviews has led me down the road of becoming a writer myself, thanks to the encouragement of others!

I'm not sure where this journey will lead me, but I hope I can breathe life into words the way so many others have done for me when I needed an escape.

AKMAL

Vero grinds forward and I hiss. Shit, how can it still feel so good when we’re both fully dressed? Well, I’m fully dressed.

“Vero.” Her name comes out almost in a growl as I try to tamp down my desires before I embarrass myself. I can’t find it in me to push her off. Just the thought of her sliding against my cock again makes it twitch.

Vero gives a little intake of air before she leans forward. I lean my head back as far as I can go in a half-assed attempt to get away and close my eyes. Shit, we shouldn’t be doing this.

Her warm breath fans across the side of my face as she whispers into my ear. “Are you happy to see me, Akmal?”

Through gritted teeth, I try to answer her as civil as I can so as to not push her any further. “I’m always happy to see you.”

Her low chuckle does something to me. The way her soft breasts push against my chest makes my cock weep in frustration. The warmth of her body on mine makes me think very nasty thoughts. Thoughts a good Malay boy should not be thinking. Opening my eyes, I stare at the ceiling to try and gain some semblance of control.

Think unsexy thoughts. Think unsexy thoughts.

Why and How is this Book so Effng HOT!?!

It’s a simple but interesting love story here with lots of culture — and HOT HOT HOT intimacy. This book is so hot, I wanted to be Vero. Seriously. This couple goes from virginal dating to an amazing (and beautifully realistic) domestic power dynamic. Sooooo hot. Like, seriously. I enjoyed the respect this couple had toward each other, too. And everytime Akmal asks Vero if she’s his good girl, I swooned. This is my new favorite from this author.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:

This book is NOT a stand alone. You will have to read the first to understand the second. Starts off right where book 1 leaves off.

It was only supposed to be one book. What happened? now there will be 3. LOL!

Tree and Kylie. This one for you ladies.

Meeting Akmal and Vero in book 1 of the Labels & Lace series (The Formation Of Us), we are aware it is another experienced VS newbie to relationships and love. This book is lighter than how book 1 was.
Thought Akmal has some dark moments and can be possessive, he is new to this and may have some communication errors along the way.
Vero has a thirst to physically feel the love of others, where as Akmals culture does not allow physical contact or even self love before marriage. How will Vero last? Can Akmal stand by his cultural upbringing? Will everything come crumbling down around them?
You will have to read further into the series to find out, and don't worry you will still see Mat and Atsuko.
This delicious story has many twists and turns in it to keep the story exciting, and make you wanting more.
And then, will the story end here, or is there still more to come? One never knows what the future holds, so live for today.

A sweet Malay virgin and a fiesty Latino heroine, this book is hot!!

A brilliant read!! Akmal is so sweet and genuine, and Vero is the sassy and badass female main character everyone wishes they could be. The chemistry between the two is off the charts! Even without the characters being able to jump into bed immediately (because they have to wait for marriage), the scenes where they are tempting, teasing and pleasing each other are hot as hell. And things only get better from there! The banter between Vero and Akmal is incredible and the story is so immersive that you’ll believe these characters are real. This is Book 2 in a fantastic series, I do recommend reading them in order to get the most enjoyment out of them!

Love love love! We previously met Akmal and Vero in the formation of us and I was looking forward to their story since! Their chemistry burns through the pages. Their story was so relatable that I teared up at one scene because I felt it so deeply in my heart. If you love the dork and the hot girl trope.. this book is for you! Akmal and Vero were perfection.

A love story you won't forget

There is not one thing about this book I didn't love. Vero, is a woman after my own heart. Everything she goes thru, you can feel in your head and heart. I see wanted to laugh, cry and see help her fight her battles. Vero, is the friend you want to have in your life. This is a book you'll never forget. 100 star read!!! I highly recommend this book.

Second in the authors Nerd Hero series, and boy is he a nerd 😂. Vera is a sultry Vixen, cultural differences create a bumping road in their relationship. The Hero struggles with the temptation of her while respecting his family and beliefs. Just fab can't wait for book 3.

First of all, can I say I want an Akmal of my own 💀💀. It's been so long since I'd adored a sweet yet assertive MC that's probably my ideal husband 🤚💀 just saying.

I love assholes (in books, not IRL. I'd probably punch that fckwit if they were rude to me) but this is a refreshing take on a MC in a dark romance book, and I gurantee that you won't be disappointed.

The Conception of Us started where book 1 left off, where Akmal and Vero did the naughty (no 🐔 in the 🐱 though!) which prompted Akmal to ask Vero to marry him (I know! How exciting!)

Since Malays were not permitted to have sex before marriage, the sexual tension between the two was agonising in the best ways, probably would leave readers sexually frustrated (well, I did). But, there was also some teasing between them to relieve some of that frustration 😏

I love the relationship between Vero and Akmal, about how Vero was this confident woman, which Akmal matched with being shy and yet grew to be more assured of himself the more time he spend with her. While there was some misunderstanding between them, none of them acted petty and dare I say, childish. Even if Vero did, it was because of her playful personality, another character trait I love :)

Not only was Akmal was caring and loving towards Vero, buying her ice cream when she needed it and being thoughtful for her, he was also firm when Vero was being, well, herself 😂. And yes, the punishments that comes after that was steamy and off the charts 🥵

We also get to know more about Akmal and Vero's families, and see their relationships with them in realistic ways, where nothing was sunshine and rainbows in this world. There is some conflict in the beginning, but it gets better towards the end.

We also get to see more of Mat and Atsuko, and enjoy more of them being together 💕

It also looks like we're also getting a third book of Fabian (Vero's big brother) and Sakinah (Akmal's sister) 🤫
