Enchantment #1

The Howling Wind

Sheltered.

That’s the word I’d use.

As a young fae raised in a small village, my life had been idyllic. Me, my mom, my step-brother Dom, and his dads, Ashe and Curtis lived together above my mother’s healer’s den, all working together to cure the illnesses affecting the multiple species in our community. We’d lived a modest life, but we’d been happy.

Until one day, a summons arrived from Ravenshield Castle, calling healers of the realm to the castle. An illness was plaguing the royal family, and they offered a significant reward just for showing up. For a family of healers, the opportunity for money and prestige was too good to pass up.

So why did Mom lie about the scroll? Why did she hide the truth of its contents? And why had she never spoken about her past?

The pull of the adventure was too strong, so Dom and I concocted a plan to send us across the continent, headed east to Heartmount and the castle atop its hill.

But life on the road was an adventure for a female that grew up as cloistered as I did. And at Ravenshield Castle? Well, that’s when things got really interesting.

Moon's Tits was this a great read! I've been a fan of Mila's since I picked up her Maven of Mayhem series, so when I saw her next one was branching off into fantasy, I was like, TAKE MY MONEY.

Mila paints the picture of a lush fantasy world with a rich historical background without getting too in the weeds of things. It has amazing world-building for days with a new and exciting take on Fae, Elves, Goblins, Sprites etc. One of my favourite bits is how the world builds in polyamory so well. I'm a sucker for RH, and I'm here for the way this story has been crafted to make multiples so natural and normal.

I have some ideas of where this series is going to go, but I was looking for all the various seeds of plot to come in this one. This is one adventure that I want to continue on forever. I mean, with a cliff like that, I'm so ready to get the next book and see where things go!

The FMC!
Elia is such a wonderful lead. She's been training to be a healer her whole life but hasn't been encouraged to go out in the real world to go to a proper healers school. She has such a great bond with her family that she doesn't want to leave them high and dry without the extra help from her and her step-brother Dom. But things happen, and the adventure begins! I love her progression as she learns about the world and more than their small village.

The Guys!
Dom, Hakon, Axel, Dream man - I don't want to give away too much, but oh buddy, is this harem filled with angst and love and amazingness. First off, we have the will they/won't they of the step-brother connection with Dom, the already a couple but want to expand with Prince and Axel. And my absolute favourite dream guy, who I MUST KNOW MORE ABOUT.

The Smut!
There's dream sexy times, IRL sexy times, MM sexy times and so much built up steam and tension that's going to explode in the next book. I need more.

Incredible, that’s how I would describe this book just incredible.

The story is high fantasy with an amazing world you just get lost in. The detail and descriptions had me visualizing everything. I just wanted to jump on and live there.

Elia a healer and her step-brother Dom travel across the kingdom on a quest that could change their lives forever 😍 During the journey from events that happen you can just see how the love these 2 have for each other blossoms further.

I was laughing, I was crying and the heart of Elia just came through the pages. She’s a fiesty kind hearted character that you have no choice but to love 🖤

The world building was immense and I haven’t read anything like that in a Fae kingdom for a while. This is a slow burn romance with a few spicy bits throughout but when the full spice comes I think it will be explosive 😱

That ending though, I’m dead over here 🙈 how can it end like that?! I kind of had an inclining with some of what was discovered at the end but I wasn’t expecting what happened.

This is probably 1 of my favourite fantasy books I’ve read.

Also “Moons tits” has got to be 1 of the best sayings ever 😍

“The great curse of being a reader was the lack of sleep one could obtain at night.”

I had the distinct pleasure to receive an ARC copy of this book. With that being said, I’m not here with a flowery fluff piece on how everyone should read this book.. No, I’m here to tell y’all how distraught I am that I cannot binge this whole entire series in one sitting!!!!! 😩😩😩
&& YOU. NEED. TO. READ. THIS. BOOK.!!

I’m one of those people who usually doesn’t read a series until it’s completed. It’s a terrible thing to admit, I know, but.. we live in an age of instant gratification right? And that tends to breed a level of patience thin enough to rival paper-mâché lol. However! I’m SO glad I didn’t wait to start this series because after everything I just experienced between these pages… it would be an utter tragedy if this story got lost among the clutter that is my “waiting on release” TBR list!!
——————
Ok first thing first… there is a FANTASITC amount of world building in book 1 alone. Mila delivers her words in a such an effective way, by creating perfect descriptive imagery, I was instantly drawn in and could easily conjure exactly what things/people/places looked like in my mind. How well I can picture things in my mind isn’t usually a factor I consider when reviewing a book, our brain just fills in the blanks for us and that’s that, but it was just so easy with this authors writing. I didn’t have to take a guess about anything or unconsciously fill in those blanks because it was all eloquently laid out for me.
It definitely made connecting with the characters and storyline a lot easier.
During some particularly intense parts of the book, I found myself eating up the words as fast as I could while my heart raced and my hands became clammy. I was continuously starved for more. Any book that can create a physical reaction while reading is definitely a book/author I want to read!

The characters and their dynamic are magnetic! I found myself so immersed in the story that I had no idea I was at the end of the book until I couldn’t flip the pages anymore!! (That was a particularly painful realization.) That’s never happened to be before. Usually, I periodically check what percentage of the book I have left (using the KU app) and it just.. didn’t happen with this one. I loved it.

It does take a minute for the core of the storyline to pick up, but that’s me just stating a fact.. (not pointing out a negative). The plot is original and engaging and it never once felt like it was dragging on.
I don’t want to give too much away, the blurb does a great job of giving an all around summary, but I do want to mention a few of my favorite things 😍😈.

Dom. Dom. And more freaking Dom!!!!!! He honestly might hold the record for how fast it took me to fall in love with a character. He’s the PERFECT all around package. Attractive, charming, attentive, protective, considerate, AND a total book worm??
Um, yes please!!!

“What kind of work were you thinking of taking up?"
"I'm really not sure. I enjoy reading, but no one will pay me for that, unfortunately.”
—same Dom, same.—

The only teensy-weency technicality being…. he’s Elia’s step-brother🙈. && I’m completely terrified things aren’t going to go the way I want them to😩.

I love the family dynamic 🥺. They live in a town not tainted by gluttony or greed. It’s so simplistic and genuine.

I really love the morals Elia’s mom instills in her. I feel it gives the story a sense of realism by being so relatable.

And the book is funny!!! The perfectly placed humor elevates this book from ‘good’ to ‘exceptional’. It really is an art Mila seems to have mastered.

All in all, this book has everything.
-Action
-Adventure
-World Building!!
-Multi POV
-Mystery/suspense
-RH Love/Romance/Sexy times 😍🔥
-Paranormal creatures (fae. goblins. sprites. And other implied characters)
-Cliffhanger. So don’t come at my girl all sideways!

This book felt a lot like a game of chess. It’s early in the game so the author is plotting and only showing us the pieces she wants to be revealed. I, for one, cannot wait for more 😈.

Epic fantasy and great start to the series

Moon’s tits, if the first line doesn’t have you loving this book already then you will have to believe me when I say that this is an exceptional read. Many fantasy novels tend to be quite long but the world building in this was simple and still complex. There are many layers that have already been established but I know that there will be so many more as the story continues. I feel like we only got a taste of what this author and this world can offer.

As I said, the first line immediately had me chuckling and needing to know more about the female main character. She’s funny, dedicated, smart and she has flaws but you can’t help but love her through them.

For the male main characters, I feel like I can’t delve too much into them. I have my favorites and who I hope is going to be part of the romance but I feel like that may include spoilers so no spoilers here.

I really enjoy the use and mention of side characters and little things that may not seem important. They are brought up later in the story and some things are bigger than you would think they are. However, they aren’t so obscure that you don’t remember them at all, they are brought up naturally in the flow of the story.

I feel like I could continually gush about the world building and characters but I really enjoyed all of this book. I enjoyed the pace and flow of the story, the complexity of characters, the intricate details within the story and, of course, the mystery and romance that we learned about.

I cannot wait to delve more into the story and see what else the author has in store for us. This is going to be an epic tale.

The Howling Wind is an absolutely fantastic romance fantasy that is a definite must read for anyone that loves RH fated mate stories that tempt and intrigue! Needless to say, Mila Sin sure knows how to take you on an epic journey with her incredibly detailed and utterly amazing creative world building and her captivating characters! She definitely has the flair for creativity and knows her way with words!

Our FMC Elia, is a high Fae healer that’s full of sass and spunk and utterly endearing! When she’s sent on a mission to help the royal family with her stepbrother, Dom, due to an illness plaguing the family, you just know this adventure is going to be a good one! Elia is definitely a relatable character and the interactions between her and Dom are fun to read. The journey they embark on to the castle is full of adventure, bonding, trust and all around growth—and while it may seem “slow” to some, it’s so worth the setup and crucial to the storyline. And without giving too much away…let me just say when she finally gets to meet Prince Hakon and Axel? Perfection! :)

Overall this book is a slow burn, RH fantasy that will grab your attention right from the opening scenes and take you on a elaborate journey well worth taking! And don’t you worry—even if it is more of a slow burn, there’s enough spice in here to keep you happy! And the characters? This story is so worth reading just for them alone, the intricate plot and mystery notwithstanding! The complexity, diversity and overall character development that Sin mastered with all her characters was absolutely phenomenal!! And that ending?!?! *gasp* I do love an epic cliffhanger!!! ;)

The beginning was very slow, and it took me a long while to really get into this book (like almost half-way). The "twist" was pretty obvious as soon as we meet her stranger, but it was still entertaining. I liked the world-building, but there's a lot of detail and description--I found myself skipping entire paragraphs--and I don't feel we really get insight into more important things. Spending so much time with the wood sprites didn't seem to really matter to the plot, as an example. The main character felt oddly superficial, which is strange because I feel like we got good insight into Dom and Hakon.

It was also a bit unbelievable that she's basically never asked her mom pretty much anything. She knows nothing about her mom's past, she's never tried to learn more about her magic despite being shown she's extremely curious and driven to learn, and she seems very ignorant about the world in general. At times, she's very mature, and then the next page, she'll revert back to something more like a teenager, and it's jarring.

But I do want to read the next one, and I think the series and this author has a lot of promise.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have been a fan of Mila Sin ever since I read her debut in the Maven of Mayhem series. And to be honest, I didn’t think she could outdo herself.

She most certainly has. The Howling Wind is a High Fantasy, Slow build, Slow burn Reverse Harem with the most amazing world building I have read from what essentially is still a very new author.

Mila Sin has created a world in which I was so fully immersed that I lost time. Her characters are so fully fleshed and easy to love (or hate) that I became invested in them within minutes of meeting them.

Elia is an incredible character. I loved her from the moment I met her, up to the very end of the book. And with each chapter, I grew to appreciate and love her more. She showed great character growth, and what started out as a lovely leading lady ended up as a very promising badass that was learning to stand up for herself. I can only imagine where Mila will go with this character and I for one, cannot wait to experience it.

I’m not going to get into the leading men yet, because not a lot is given away in the book, but from what I have read (and guessed) so far things are only going up. The guys I have met I have really connected with and I am very eager to get to know them better in the next book.

And if great world-building, excellently written characters and a badass FMC isn’t enough for you? Ms Sin also gives you a mystery, a very intriguing storyline and all sorts of fun side characters.

I cannot wait to see where this series goes.

What an epic, fantasy romance. Mila Sin definitely has a knack for this genre. I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the story of fae healer Elia and her adventure to Heartmount to heal a royal member.

Elia has many layers and I’m still trying to figure her out. She’s feisty and has some unique abilities that will prove interesting later on. I love Dom, Axel, and Hakon. Each has their own personality and so far all are completely adorable even when being a pain at times There is another male figure who’s mysterious but after that cliffhanger not sure if good or bad.

This is a slow burn RH but there are some very steamy moments that will make you quite happy.

* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

I have loved Mila since I read her Maven of Mayhem series, and I knew I was gonna love this one just as much!!

Elia is our FMC and she is very excited to start her healer apprenticeship. She has always had a constant protector in her stepbrother, Dom. Now, they are going on an adventure together, and things certainly get interesting.

Her stepbrother Dom, who shifts into a wolf, is my favorite! Im hoping we get a little stepbrother love in book 2!! There is also something brewing between Elia and Prince Hakon and Axel, and I can't wait to see what it grows into in the next books!!

This cliffhanger wrecked me a little, I can't lie. I will be counting down the days til book 2!!

Everyone knows that Mila Sin is an amazing author, and now she wrote fantasy so this had to
be epic.

This book is incredible.
It had it all: action, adventure, an remarkable world build, multiple pov, mystery, RH ofcourse,
romance and sexy bits.

Like all books this had unfortunately a cliffhanger.

I loved the story of Elia who starts her healer apprenticeship.

Dom her stepbrother can shift into a wolf is her constant protector and they go on an adventure
together. Where things get interesting.

I cannot wait to see what is in store for Elia in book 2.

Delicious new series from Mila Sin. Beautiful world with much potential. Elia is an interesting FMC. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see much of her males yet, but that will undoubtedly come. The twist at the end was not unexpected and gives us a good feeling where the story will be going. Hopefully there will be some surprises as well ;)

I’m mixed about this one. There was detailed world building, which I liked. But, there was something off for me. Maybe too slow. Maybe too much detail on mundane things but not enough detail or introspection with the characters and the scenes intended to drive the the plot and character development forward. I was also mixed on Elia - she’s a nice person who is supposed to the be the equivalent of a woman in her early 20s but the beginning of the book she acted like a teen in a lot of ways. She is a good person, and I love that. But, one moment she acts mature the next immature. One minute she seems smart but the next she is making stupid decisions. The author also paints her as a klutz- I see this a lot in RH - make the FMC klutzy as a way of giving her a cutesy weakness - it’s a trope that gets old. Finally, her mind and emotions are all over the place. I think this is leading somewhere and there will be a reason for it - but within the story it just got annoying.

Just, WOW

If you've read Mila Sin before, this will come as a shock. It's a fantasy slow burn (kinda). But wow, I love being pleasantly surprised and love it even more when authors show us that they are more than a one trick pony, sticking in a single genre.

THW is absolutely amazing. The world building, the characters (including the ones that I would enjoy seeing stabbed, looking at you Dom. I wanted you nut punched from the beginning), the nighttime ritual if you know what I mean, all the intricacies.

There are so many pieces to the story and that is one thing that can be expected from Mila. Everything will fit together nicely, but for now, we wait and complain that she can't supply us a book a day.

Thanks for the cliffie and revving my engine. 💚 Can't wait to have this series on my shelf.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a proper fantasy book. I’m not talking about paranormal books set in our world (or some altered version thereof). I’m talking about a different world entirely, where humans are almost an abstract notion and the fae and other creatures reign. It was Mila Sin’s book, The Howling Wind, that drew me to abandon my usual dark and contemporary romances for something a little different.

The book is the story of Elia, a female fae and soon to be apprentice healer. After her mother declines a summons to the royal palace, Elia decides to impersonate her mother and make the three-week trek to Heartmount, accompanied by her step-brother and best friend Dom. Life in Elia’s world is not simple. Despite being magical beings, most fae chooses not to use their magic as it will shorten their lifespans. Males heavily outnumber females, polyamorous relationships are the norm and Elia is placed in danger by the very nature of her gender.

Elia is a wonderful character. She’s 132 years old yet is still young, still discovering who she is in the world. Despite being a completely different species to us, she enjoys kinky romance novels (fae style BDSM, of course), but still gets caught up in a fictional notion of love. She is strong in her mind, knowing that she is capable of curing the mysterious fae illness plaguing the palace, able to fend for herself despite her clumsy nature and, above all, believing in doing the right thing. She says what she thinks, even if it’s not entirely appropriate for the situation, and challenges those around her.

But, Elia is not perfect. She does little to discourage Dom’s affections and possessiveness towards her, even though she believes they are not fated to be mates. There is something dark happening with her magic and she is keeping secrets about it and the events of their journey to Heartmount. Then there’s the small matter of her mysterious dreamtime visitor, the hidden person who stokes the fires in her body. Is he just a figment of her imagination or is there more to his appearance?

In terms of storyline, The Howling Wind has many threads which are cleverly woven together. At first, it’s not apparent why it’s necessary to see Elia’s treatment of Lord Connian’s pixie bite or why she and Dom encounter sprites in the forest. It’s only once you get further into the story that the link between these elements becomes clear. Unfortunately, I found that this made the first two-thirds of the story feel quite slow in pace. But slow didn’t mean I wanted to give up on it – there was more than enough happening to keep me curious.

Once Elia and Dom reach Heartmount all the threads come together and the real excitement begins. Once I got to that point nothing (bar falling asleep with my kindle in hand) was going to stop me from finding out what was going on. I was gripped. So naturally, Sin decided to end the book with dramatic revelations and a killer cliffhanger. Literally. (It’s called The Great Chasm.)

I think that The Howling Wind is the start of a series that’s only going to get better as it continues. The book draws you in and connects you to its main character and the events surrounding her. Before you know it you’re enmeshed in secrets and mysteries that are begging to be solved. There’s always more than meets the eye and you’ll never get the whole truth in the first instance. I only hope that Mila Sin doesn’t make us wait a whole year before she gives us book 2.

Note: This book was gifted to me against an honest review!

TL;DR: I thoroughly enjoyed this book, despite a bit of a slow start. Will definitely be reading the 2nd book as I can't wait to see what happens!
Contains themes of polyamory, fated mates, mild M/F and M/M spice.

Full review:
It was very tough for me to give a star-rating for this book, as the last 40% would be a 5-star hands down. However, it takes a bit of time for the story to get going, and very nearly DNF'd at around 50%. I'm glad I persevered, because we are really welcomed into an interesting world with some great characters and a fun plot. And a bit of welcome spice *wink wink*

So let's talk about that 1st half: It's world and character building, I get it. But I also got a bit bored. The main character, Elia seems to be discovering herself as she goes on an adventure with her step brother Dom. There are a few encounters that I felt could have been left out to get our protagonists to their main destination faster.

As I mentioned above, the world building is interesting. It feels like a mix of your usual fantasy/fae tropes, with a sprinkle of D&D lore built into it. Gobelins, sprites and orcs that are part of the day to day interactions alongside your usual fae? Yes please!

The main plot line seems relatively predictable for now, as I saw the ending/cliffhanger of the book come a mile off. But part of me thinks that this was intentional, and was still fun to see this play out. I am excited to see where she is going to take this turn of events.

Relationships you ask? In this world, polyamory is the norm, and is built into the world in a very natural and non-creepy way. There is a bit of relatively graphic spice, but it isn't gratuitous and well weaved into the storyline and character development. There is a bit of non-graphic M/M action, but again, it fits nicely in the polyamory setting of this world and reads in an incredibly natural way.

All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this book for a relatively easy and fun read!

The highly anticipated debut fantasy novel by Mrs Sin creates such stunningly impressive scenery depictions, I honestly got lost within my own imagination, trying to map out the surroundings - feeling like I was transported to the Kingdom of Brehan on my travels to Heartmount!

Elia is the klutzy and highly relatable main/female character. Her conscience and need to help others is the strongest of her nature, giving her a warm and morally pure vibe that you just can’t help but love (and hope to messy it up as the books progress 😆)

Her blossoming sexuality is a slow burn throughout the book, with dreamland visits from a mysterious, seductive stranger that leaves you a little hot and bothered.
And a cheeky step brother (Dom) that you’re rooting for, hoping he can show her just what she needs and how good he can be for her!
Throw in a sexy prince (Hakon) and his beefcake guard (Axel), you’ll be chomping at the bit to see where it all goes when Elia finally gets her Harem going!!

As they undertake a noble quest - one that leads them on a path of exploration fraught with lurking dangers, important side missions and dramatic action - they really are finding out just how big and wondrous the world is.
This gloriously wild ride ends on a shocking secret revelation that’ll have you reeling at the good ole’ cliffhanger and screaming “I KNEW IT” internally!!

All in all it’s a grand adventure that takes you on mysterious roads full of great action, losing track of time whilst you immerse yourself within the magical story lines.

The Howling wind is a beautifully immersive world of fantasy that has me changing my mind about avoiding paranormal reverse harem reads, and one that I just can’t help but want everyone to love as much as i did.

A banging 5⭐️’s for this book, and one you’ll definitely want to add to your pile!!

WOW! What a phenomenal way to start a new fantasy series! I was utterly and completely riveted to my seat from beginning to end. The imagery blew me away and completely transported me to this amazing and magical new world. The story is suspenseful, thrilling, entertaining, witty and with twists and turns throughout that kept me turning the pages quickly to see how it all plays out in the end. And then that ending - was a complete WTF moment that has left me speechless and begging for more of this outstanding story. Shocked and breathless is how the story left me!

Each and every character had me captivated and falling in love. They were all unique in their own ways, and had different qualities and different personalities to add to the diversity of the story. It made it hard to know who to root for and who to watch out for. I have my suspicions and guesses but so many unanswered questions too!

Elia and Dom had me laughing uncontrollably throughout with their witty banter, their love for each other and their ability to keep things playful in intense and highly emotional times. The love they share as step-siblings runs deep and kept me hoping for more. But what an adventure they both take us on.

Brilliantly written story with phenomenal imagery, outstanding world building, unique characters, and a slow burn romance that had my toes curling and my pulse racing. I loved every second of this story and I can’t wait to see how it all starts to unfold as the story progresses in the next book.

Once in a while it happens that I start to follow my progress to see how much book I have left to read; 65%, 58%, 51%, ... Not because I want to be able to start something else, but because I am dreading the moment the end is near. "The howling wind" was that book for me.

Elia is looking forward to the moment she'll be able to start her apprenticeship to become a certified healer. She is ready to embrace adulthood, but it is never easy to leave a place where you have lived almost your entire life. When a message asks healers to come to the palace to help the royal family, she decides to follow her dream, even though her mom seems scared about Elia leaving. Together with her stepbrother Dom, Elia starts an adventure that will lead to unexpected revelations.

This book is the start of a new fantasy RH series, and the author takes her time to give readers a clear view of the world Elia is living in. With a focus on world building, it takes a little while to introduce all the important characters, but my favorite man allready made his biggest impression in the first chapter. I absolutely adore Dom: strong, protective, hot and not afraid to make a fool of himself. I hope he and Elia will find a way to be together.

This is a strong start to a new series that seems to have it all: fated mates, fae, strong world- and character building and a lot of potential storylines to follow. I highly suggest reading it!

When I started reading, I wasn't sure how the book was going to go. Typically, I read more contemporary books, but I have to say that I was completely hooked about 25% in! I couldn't put the book down and just needed to keep reading to see what was going to happen.

Elia has been protected by her stepbrother, Dom, her entire life but she is not weak. She is stronger than she even realizes until she has no choice but to take care of herself. Elia's character is also quite funny with her cursing like Moon's Tits! I think this is going to be a new phrase that I want to use because every time she said it in the book, I would just start laughing.

Throughout the book, Elia is surrounded by some pretty hot guys. Her stepbrother, Dom, who shifts into a wolf and is super protective. I enjoyed his character and am hoping for a romance or something more between them. I want more of Axel and Prince Hakon! I think there is so much brewing between them and Elia that I can't wait for book two!

This book does end in a cliffhanger that shocked me completely! I will now be counting down until book two comes out and I can see what happens with all of these characters! Mila Sin created a world that I just want to know more about!!!

This is the first book in The Enchantment Series and was an absolutely incredible read!

When the Fae King sends a summons to every healer across the kingdom after a mysterious illness afflicts the Prince, Elia, a healer in training, decides to heed the call and along with her stepbrother, Dom, they travel across the Kingdom on their quest to reach the castle and try to help.

I absolutely loved this book! It was extremely well written and Mila has a way of building a world that just draws you in and makes you not want to leave it.

The plot progresses steadily, with plenty of adventure and action along the way and I absolutely adored the characters and the chemistry between Elia and her potential mates.

And can I just say that Elia has the best curses! I think Moon's Tits is now my absolute favourite ever and I'll definitely be using it!

It is a slow burn romance, but there are a few pretty steamy scenes throughout the story that had me begging for more.

But that cliffhanger! I mean, I knew it was coming but I definitely wasn't ready for it, even if it did kind of answer a few of the questions I had running through my head.

I seriously can't wait for the next book and to see how Elia handles this new development.

This is a very very slow burn novel. There’s a lot of world building at the beginning and it feels very slow moving. Best best advice is to keep going. It picks up, and it begins to tell the tale of a Elia, a healer in training who has dreamed about seeing the world, healing fae, and helping others. All others. Elia is sweet; non elitist, and very sheltered. There are several times where you will see how sheltered. Her bestie is Dom, who has feelings for her, but things never quite click for them.

Their world has changed, and the creatures and fae who live within it have changed with it. They are weaker, they take longer to produce, and they have lost much of their magic. There is a lot of hope as Elia starts her journey, and things become full of intrigue once she gets further into her journey as she decides to answer a summons from the castle. There seems to be an evil in the land, and nothing is as it seems. I yelled at the end, threw my phone, and messaged my bestie screaming at the end. Push Thru, enjoy the world building, and then be ready to yell at the end. I can’t wait for the next book!

To be honest nothing much happened. First 200 pages were about the MC, Elia, and described everything going on which was actually more fun to read than the actual thing. Most of the book goes on about how Elia and Dom are just traveling. Nothing exciting happens.
Then they reach the palace as they intended to. The male mc's, Hakon and Axel were bland Lil shits.
The story ends on a cliffhanger which sucked because literally the actual shit began to happen and the book was still so long.
There were some unnecessary povs of Dom. In most of the book the characters droned on and on about the randomist shit.
I had fun reading some of it because I liked Elia's enthusiasm. She was a well written character. That's why 1 star goes to her.
The three stars lost were because of too much detail as to what went down in everyone's lives and the plot, which sucked.
The other star was for the world building and the fact that the author did her research on the body before writing a story about a healer.
All in all it was an Ok read. Not gonna read the next book tho.

This fantasy book is a treat. The detail and world building are spectacular, and Elia and Dom, who we read the most of in this first book, are such a sweet pair. Elia is a clumsy, yet very smart and capable female. Her character grows a lot in this book, learning to "stand on her own two feet". Being a healer comes naturally to her, as she genuinely desires to help people. Dom is the protective, caring, and a little overbearing stepbrother who stays by Elia's side through everything. You can't help but admire how devoted he is to her. Together, they go on an adventure to the castle. There are plenty of thrilling bumps along the way. Elia's "stranger" is my favorite, although I also very much adore Dom. This is a slow build, slow burn romance, and the main focus is more on the story and character building than on the romance in The Howling Wind. I expect book two to deliver on the more romantic side of things, keeping the depth of the character growth and story development, too, of course. This book cover is breathtaking, and the story delivers, so make sure to read it!

First I will be saying Moon Tits forever now because it is literally the BEST!!! This story seriously kept me on my toes I had a feeling of where we might be headed and then I was thrown for a loop and a bit shocked but I am super thrilled to see what is going to happen next. Elia is amazing! She has a true heart of freaking gold and just wants to help anyone and everyone she can. She has been a bit sheltered and she is now out on her own with her step-brother Dom and let me tell you things get exciting. Dom, Axel, Hakon and our mystery dream guy are all super yummy and the connection they all share with our girl *swoon* and then you get that push pull and then Axel, Hakon oh so yummy and our mystery dream guy who I am absolutely dying to know more about. This is definitely a slow burn angsty build up that I cannot want for it to explode because it is going to cause you kindle to combust with all the tension. I cannot wait for the next book. I need to know what happens next like freaking yesterday.

Thank you, Mila and Affinity for sending me a copy of your book to read and review.

Howling in the wind is a book of many talents and Mila really has an incredible talent in this area.

The book started slightly slow for me but soon picked up and once it did i was hooked.

Elia is one hell of a strong leading character., who seriously just grows through the entire book. When we first meet her, she is super excited at the prospect of starting her healer apprenticeship. I loved the relationship she had with Dom, her stepbrother and the incredible adventure they take which opens the floodgates to some unexpected revelations.

I loved how Mila delves into detail about the lives all the characters live and any place in which they are even if it is just walking down a lane or standing a stall in a market. The detail seriously brings the entire scene and book into reality right before your eyes.

I enjoyed reading this as it is something i havent read before and cant wait to read more.

My Overall Rating is 4 1/2 💋💋💋💋😘
My Passion Rating is 4 💋💋💋💋

Such A Fun Adventurous Start to Series!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Review

This book was a very pleasant surprise!! It’s been awhile since I’ve read a fantasy paranormal book and this was definitely a wonderful one. Mila did an amazing job writing this.

This is about a Fae named Elia and her Step-Brother who set out on an adventure across the kingdom to try and save a Royal. Elia is a free spirited and witty young woman and an apprentice healer wanting to be more than just her mom’s assistant. Dom is her appointed protector, he is flirty and fun, but also very protective and possessive of Elia.

This book starts out a little slow and is slow burn but there are a couple steamy spots to enjoy. This book focuses more on character building and laying everything out. There is lots of adventure, action and all the characters are amazing. I can’t wait to find out what happens in book two. And sadly yes there is a major cliffy at the end of this but the wait will be well worth it. Definitely recommend this book!!!

So not going to lie, it took me a bit to get into this book. I'm not sure what it was exactly or maybe it was just my frame of mind, nonetheless, once I did get into it I loved it!

Let's see, I don't really have any cons for this book other than maybe the beginning reads a little slow at least for my tastes. I think the book really picks up once they start their journey so if you're like me and struggled, I swear give the book a shot until they start their journey and you won't be disappointed. The characters were really well written and I just love Elia which is surprising because she's not the typical FMC I tend to go for. I REALLY hope Dom ends up in the harem though because I love him lol. I'm excited to learn more about the H's and I loved that it wasn't just insta-love.

The ending quite honestly blew my mind and looking back I'm not sure how I didn't piece it together given that the author dropped major clues along the way. I think it kinda a testament to just how invested I was in Elia's harem though lol.

I am utterly and completely obsessed with this story!!

From the very first chapter, this book captured my attention and pulled me into this new, incredible fantasy world and I never, ever wanted the adventure to end!

Elia, a young fae with a passion to learn and heal others, has the opportunity to leave her small village and travel to the city of Heartmount where she’ll attempt to heal a member of the royal family who has mysteriously fallen ill. Together, Elia and her best friend/step brother Dom set off on a journey of a lifetime! They face many obstacles along the way, but once they reach the castle it’s clear there’s still so many more challenges ahead.

I don’t want to give anything away, but I strongly encourage you to read this book!!
Honestly, the world building in this story was perfection! The way the story unfolded was absolutely brilliant!!
I am beyond excited to see what’s going to happen next in the series!!

A bit of a slower start, I know i know the whole back story needed to be told, but I was too excited to pay attention to details!!!! I love this author and KNEW she would pull me in to this story and of course it happened! I was so invested by the end I was triple checking the release date of the second book and sending requests to the author for who should be included in the harem!!
It is definitely a 180 from Ms. Sin's other series, but you need to read it regardless because it will keep you up and reading once you get hooked! (Or maybe I just have no self control when I get involved in a story and stay up until 4 am to finish! Ehh, potato potatoh)
I won't give too much away, but my vote is for this slow building slow burn harem to end up with 4 gorgeous men! I also want to know what in the actual f is going on with her mom?! So many questions and patience is not a virtue I possess!

What an EPIC fantasy romance full of adventure, fighting, espionage, mystery, and deceit. I can admit when I am wrong... and I was not sure about this book at the beginning but it absolutely blew me away. I normally read more paranormal than fantasy but this totally left me craving more of the fantasy genre. I love Elia and how she starts to gain more confidence and strength as her adventure goes on, I also love how kind and caring she is towards others (sometimes to her own detriment) the scene with Dom and Elia with the wood sprites was so heartwarming and made me irrationally happy for people that do not exist lol. I also love her blooming relationship with Hakon and Axel and how they both react to her and her relationship with Dom. The ending was fantastic if not a tad mean lol and I am so hyped up for the next book in this series.
