Adjusting to her new life in servitude of Hell, she must balance her human one as a medical examiner in Chicago. Retribution is focused on Hell and the army they are acquiring to do evil and right wrongs.
Rose finds herself in a position where she must make a decision on whether to sell her soul for her boyfriends life. Ace is a demanding and cruel recruiter who takes an interest in Rose but he is so self absorbed in himself.
A good story!

Overall 3.5/5
Plot 3.5/5
Detail 3/5
Continuity 4/5
Character Development 3/5
Character Chemistry 2/5
Spice 3/5

This contemporary romance writer promised a dark and suspenseful romance, but it just fell short of the mark. When I find a book about demons, I expect them to at least be hedonistic since they're inherently evil and act on self-interest alone. This read like the Disney version of demons. I found the premise good, but the execution was lacking. From beginning to end, the paranormal and dark aspects you would expect to read felt like an afterthought. Those elements were disconnected from the romance instead of enhancing it, which was both frustrating and heartbreaking for a story that was well written with so much potential. Ace & Rose have some decent banter, but everything between them felt rushed, even on an instalove scale. I often found myself questioning if the aspect caused the characters' overall chemistry and development to be lacking. I wish I could rate it higher. I do highly recommend this author's contemporary romance- Moore Series(especially Expecting Moore).

You’ve only got to watch an episode or two of Supernatural to know that deals with demons never work out as you expect. Unfortunately for Rose, she didn’t get that memo. After a mugging went wrong she prays for her boyfriend’s life to be saved, only God doesn’t answer.

Fast forward two years and Rose has finished her fellowship to become a medical examiner, the boyfriend is no longer in the picture and she’s got a side hustle working for Ace, Demon of Wrath, wreaking vengeance on behalf of victims. There are two sides to Rose: the self-isolated medical examiner who’s cut herself off from the world in preparation for her inevitable ascension to demon; and the magnificently beautiful demon of vengeance. It’s interesting to watch the two separate entities begin to blur as the story goes on, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of Rose’s demon side in the next instalment.

Page has done a brilliant job of taking existing mythology and bending it to the will of the story, while not losing the common hell mythology we’re all familiar with. I really enjoyed additions such as Ace’s job being in HR and the notion that hell is rather like a recruitment office.

Ace is a curious character. He seems far too human for my own comfort, probably more so because neither we readers nor Rose ever see him in his demon form. I enjoyed reading about Rose’s internal battle over whether, as a demon, Ace was capable of emotions such as love, and, seeing Ace deal with feelings he was unable to understand. His possessiveness over Rose was especially hot, particularly when he becomes territorial over her speaking with Grayson.

You know I love a good bit of mystery in the books I read, and Retribution did not disappoint. Not only do we have the mystery of who is killing the women who end up on Rose’s slab, but we also get to figure out who Grayson is, why he’s interested in Rose and what’s going on between him and Ace. Add in the question of why Rose is so special as a demon and there’s plenty to keep you guessing.

WHY YOU SHOULD READ RETRIBUTION
* An easy to read mystery
* Multi-faceted characters
* Brilliant world building

WOW just WOW I freaking loved this book 🖤🖤

This is the first time I’ve read Frankie and it was amazing. I love PNR and not really read many this year so it was such a nice change to read this 1 and throughly enjoy the awesome storyline.

We meet Rose who sells her soul to a Demon called Ace (who I’m seriously in love with so he’s a new book boyfriend) in order to save her boyfriend from dying. Well some things happen and she is no longer with said boyfriend and is now coming into her powers as a vengeance demon who reaps souls.

The storyline is sooooo good I couldn’t put it down. The spice happens pretty fast and it is amazingly hot 🥵 I love how Rose is navigating her human life whilst taking on the role of her newly born demon with the help of Ace.

Grayson another sort of love interest (I don’t quite know about him yet but I’m not loving him at the moment) is from her past and suddenly turns up when a spate of murders start happening.

This is a duel POV book which i love 😍 however I’m not happy with that massive cliffhanger 😩 how could you do that to me 😂 can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Rose is faced with the ultimate question “would you sell your soul for the person you love and would it be worth it?” Well, she did. Was it worth it? In terms of her boyfriend at the time, I guess not. But maybe in other cases, it might be. We just won’t know for sure until the end of the trilogy.

I should be avoiding giving away spoilers but I should emphasize the hotness level is quite high and exquisite. So, maybe read this book at home in the comfort of your bedroom. Ace (our very own recruiter from hell) is that spicy🌶🌶🌶. Who would have guessed that an egotistical, arrogant and possessive demon from hell could steal my heart? Well, me. I always fall for the bad ones, at least in books.

Though paranormal is not my main go to in terms of genres, Retribution really got me all twisted, curious, and intrigued, and all the unknowns gave me heart palpitations. The cliffhanger, I must say is a big one. It won’t be that easy to wait for the second installation but aren’t all the good ones worth it?!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I absolutely love a good dark paranormal romance 🙌🏻 this book really has a great plot line. Would you sell your soul to the Devil himself for the one you love? Well, Rose kinda did that... didn't turn out too great for her 🙈 but there's that thing called silver linings? She meets the devil himself, looking to recruit wrath demons to build his army in hell. It's almost like he waits till people are at their weakest, after being wronged, then uses their hurt and anger to talk them into selling their souls then reaping revenge on the ones who hurt them..then continue doing so to other wrong doers!! Its kinda badass to be honest 😂 this book keeps you guessing alot, who doesn't love a bit of mystery? Who is the serial killer Rose is searching for? Who is this Grayson and what's his story? And what's different about Rose compared to the everyday demons? I'm looking forward to the next book in the series🤐 🙌🏻

One deal with the Devil is all it took, now Rose finds herself walking a fine line between life and Hell! Was her selflessness worth her soul? Find out in the first book of this awesome new series!

I really enjoyed this book! I love the uniqueness, the mystery, the darkness, and the intrigue of this story, and the world building is incredible.

I loved the characters too! The character development is excellent. The sexual tension and chemistry, as well as the relationship dynamic between Ace and Rose is amazing! And the whole Grayson, Ace, Rose thing, very intriguing, I am excited to see what develops there!

I am super excited to see where this story goes and where it takes these characters! I am very much looking forward to the next book.

Rose has to make a choice whether to sell her soul to save her boyfriend. What she never expected was to fall in love with the demon she sold her soul to.

The author really gave it their all when writing this book. It's not necessarily unique, but the author made it their own and gave us an intriguing plot that keeps you invested through the entire book.

Rose and Ace are a mismatched pair, but in a good way. I loved Ace, and feel like he's just been hidden from humans for so long he doesn't understand much about how to handle them anymore. I'm not sure what to think about Grayson, but will wait and see how the next books play out to see where that leads.

This is such a cool new world and I had so much fun getting to know Rose and her story line! I have so many questions, especially after that ending! I feel bad for Ace a little bit, I think he's just lived outside of the human world for so long that he doesn't understand how to not be a dummy in terms of handling Rose. I think he really does mean well all in all. I am not sure what to think of Grayson in Rose's life though. I have some theories but..... I have to wait to see if I'm right or not. Ace may not be for sharing but I'm all about that why choose life so I'm hoping Rose goes down that route too. Rose is a really sweet character. I love that she's so vengeful of those who have been wronged, and I also love that she's really embracing that and coloring outside of the lines.

This story is going to blow your mind! Frankie has truly stepped into her own with this venture into darkness and the paranormal. The twists and turns, the darkness, the sheer brilliance she shows in the development of this novel and these characters is just so amazing and inspiring! This is my absolute favorite Frankie novel to date, and I cannot wait for the next installation of this series! I am absolutely in love with Rose, Ace, and their dynamic. So very well done! 5 very dark and twisted stars!!!

I did, and it was the biggest f*cking mistake of my life… This part of the blurb is what made me want to read this book. And boy am I glad I did. This is book one in a trilogy so there was alot if world building but it was done in way you didn't even know it was happening. The way this book ends I need book two now. Ace and Rose are amazing together and I can't wait to see where book two goes.

Retribution was the first book that I read by Frankie Page and it was phenomenal. Im not into PNR as much but omg this book I fell in love with. The story between Rose and Ace is something else. I never saw it coming the way it did. Its like they say, how far would you go for the one you love? At what cost? She just never thought that she would have to sell her soul to the devil! I cant wait to read more in the next book. I so want to know more!!

Really enjoyed this book. There was lots of mystery about the past as well as intrigue on current happenings. I love how Rose was able to wreak revenge on unsuspecting dead beats, and throughout there were unexpected plot developments. It was a refreshing story line with interesting characters. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I can't get this book out of my head. The dynamic between Rose and Ace is perfect. There're sparks and heat on every page. Rose's journey (no spoilers from me) is a perspective I have never read before and I LIVE for paranormal romance reads. I am HOOKED. And the ending is such a punch to the gut. I need to know where this story goes next. I'm adding this series to a short list of sequels I'll be tracking to read on release day.

A very different take on the Demon/Reaping trope that sucked me in and made me bleed. Rose is special and the trials she's faced and secrets kept from her will either make her unstoppable or break her. Her men are vastly different and there are unknown players that make things uncertain. The plot is incredible and I just can't wait for book 2 to find out WHAT HAPPENS NEXT...

I really enjoyed this book! Rose is such a great character. I really like how she worked so hard to become a medical examiner and not even becoming a demon could make her stop! Ace, I was very intrigued by him! I’m not sure how I feel about Grayson, though. I have so many questions and theories and I cannot wait for the next book!!

I loved Retribution!
Ace is an alpha male recruiter from hell, eager to find the best wrath demons for hell’s army. Rose is a determined woman who falls into the devil’s hands and quickly discovers there are scarier creatures that go bump in the night.
This book surprised me many times throughout!
Frankie Page really did a great job! The book was well researched with believable characters and events. And although I hate cliff hangers, I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Must read dark paranormal romance.
Retribution
Genre: Dark paranormal romance
Content Warnings: killing, death, profanity, violence, sexual assault (not between MCs), and a cliff-hanger ending.
POV: 1st Person present tense, alternating dual perspective
Heat gauge: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (4/5)

Selling her soul didn’t seem like a hefty price to pay to save her boyfriend’s life. But that was before he cheated on her. Scorned by the man she loved; Rose throws in her lot with hell to become a vengeance demon. Ace, the fiend who bought her soul, now shows her the ropes as she begins her transition. Wrath isn’t the only sin he wants to indulge in with her either. He wishes he could take her straight to hell, but a few things still tie her to the mortal coil, including her job. Rose works as a medical examiner and a brutal serial killer case has come to her attention. With her new powers, she feels compelled to do what the police can’t—to wreak eternal retribution.

Frankie Page has outdone herself with this one. I loved the dark, twisted characters and the gripping plot hooked me from the get-go. The tension between Rose and Ace is so hot! I’m also a sucker for a good love triangle, so the introduction of Grayson did not disappoint. I can’t wait to see where this story goes!

Discretion is advised with this book. Check the trigger warnings first. If such content does not worry you, and you enjoy paranormal romance, I highly recommend you read Retribution by Frankie Page.

Everyone knows that selling your soul to a demon will have some unexpected consequences. Now to do it to safe your boyfriends life will it really be worth the price or do you choose to lose them forever. This book is filled with ups and downs that keep you really engaged with brilliant characters and chemistry between Rose and Ace that has you begging for more. The world building between the two worlds is absolutely fantastic. If you want a great PNR with murder, betrayal, mystery, steamy and to jump off a huge cliff at the end this is a great one for you!

My immediate reaction after finishing this book was: I REALLY, really liked this book. I enjoyed the plot, which was original and interesting. I loved the way the story was paced and the flashbacks that are weaved into the story that helped to suck you into the story even more the further you get into the book. I have a HUGE soft spot for PNR and I haven’t read NEARLY enough lately. This definitely satisfied that craving big time.
The age-old question: would you sell your soul and what price would you be willing to pay? Rose has to decide if the love she shares with Dylan is worth the risk…. In brief moments she decides it is and then things get REALLY interesting.
Random sidenote: Rose and Ace together: FIREWORKS!!!!!
As Rose (Rosalind) attempts to keep her job in her human life and her blossoming life as a demon, that becomes harder as the two worlds seem to collide in the form of a mystery killer who’s victims end up on her examination table. She tries to protect her heart against Ace who, is determined to make her his no matter how long it takes.
I instantly like Ace, the demon that Rose sold her soul to. He’s infatuated with Rose and while a little domineering at times, he seems to really love her the longer he spends in her company even though Rose often tries to keep him at a distance. He’s also very protective, and possessive of her. This comes out particularly when Grayson appears.
Grayson seems like he genuinely wants to be with Rose, but I feel like there is so much more to his story that we might find out in the coming books in this trilogy. He’s a bit of a mystery in a lot of ways.
All in all, such a great read and after that ending, geesshh!!!! I cannot wait for the next book!

Selling your soul to save a boyfriend who isn’t worth it can place you in hot water. But when that hot water includes a hot guy like Ace - who cares.

A solid mystery abounds in this dark paranormal romance. Rose is trying to figure who’s killing Jane Does while dealing with Ace her demon boss who now is her love for all eternity and a long lost friend named Grayson who just keeps popping up.

Love the twists and mystery in this book. Still unsure who and what some characters really are and that’s good even though I’ll have to wait awhile for the next book to see how this storyline plays out.

* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

A review of "Retribution" by Frankie Page. This is the first book in Frankie's series 'Rose's Inferno Trilogy'.
This is the first time I have read Frankie Page. I am looking forward to the second time.
What would you do if the love of your life was dying in the hospital? Rose did the only thing she could. She sold her soul. Unfortunately, she is going to live to regret it.
Now she is a bounty hunter for a demon. Being stalked by an acquaintance. And is in love with both. Since she can't sell her soul again, how is she going to get out of this mess?

I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Spectacular!

I was hooked! That first chapter just got the whole ball rolling and I couldn’t put this down.

I am not going to lie that I am a total simp for Ace and would happily take any offer he sent my way.

This book is spicy, full of fantasy, and has such a great plot line. I normally say I hate cliffhangers but I would read this a thousand times regardless of that fact.

This book may be short but do not that fool you into thinking that this lacks intensity. I am blown away by Frankie Page and will be adding her to my list of top authors.

Really good start to the trilogy! I enjoyed this book so much, it's well written with an interesting plot and characters that I found myself completely invested in. I love Rose and Ace together and am very curious as to how Grayson will end up fitting in with them. I was hooked from the beginning and I am dying to know what happens next!! Definitely looking forward to continuing this trilogy.

The plot hooked me

Giving your life to a demon so someone you love can live and then get screwed in the end. Hilarious and sad all at the same time. Cliffhanger ending. The main character is worth picking up the series for. Can't wait to read the next book!
